The M.C. Miller RE-5C portable reference electrode is used to verify cathodic-protection potentials on buried structures.
It uses a high-purity copper rod, a robust transparent Lexan body and a conical ceramic plug intended for soft soil. The viewing window allows the saturated copper-sulphate solution to be inspected.
The user prepares the saturated solution inside the tube in accordance with the supplied instructions; a charge of copper-sulphate crystals is included.
